The Greeks, Romans and Japanese have known and practiced for centuries the pleasures and benefits of soaking in hot water. Bathing traditions of these ancient cultures have proven the vast health benefits associated with deep soaking in pure, hot water.
More recently, the swimming pool industry created an American version of the ancient hot tub, but made them big, deluxe, expensive, complex, hard to install and hard to maintain. Then the industry added televisions, stereos and gadgets galore!
The average price of a portable spa rose to over $6,000! The final cost of a spa could easily be $9,000-$10,000. This narrowed the target market to those with sufficient income to afford these large "luxury" hot tubs.
Soon the ancient tradition of hot water soaking for health turned into a commercial money making process with health being the absolute furthest from anyone's mind.
The western plumbing industry also missed the mark on bathing. Traditional American bath tubs are wholly inadequate for healthy soaking. The are too shallow and lose heat too quickly to deliver any beneficial therapy. Americans have never developed a bathing ritual of their own based on healthy practices.
We are forever showering and washing all the hot water therapy and benefits down the drain.
Our goal at FuroHealth is to make the health benefits of soaking commonly known to the general public, and to make quality soaking tubs affordable to all!
